Nationwide Insurance is a Fortune 100 insurance and financial services conglomerate based out of Columbus, OH. While working as a creative services intern for the Brand Planning department, I did projects for a variety of business segments including Nationwide Bank - Dublin, OH, Nationwide Agribusiness - Des Moines, Iowa, and Nationwide Corporate - Columbus, Ohio.
Nationwide Bank - Dublin, OH
The Nationwide Bank project involved designing the graphics and marketing messaging for the lobby space, ATM area, and customer counter of the Dublin, OH branch. I used pops of color, bold type, and images of everyday people in order to humanize and personalize the banking experience. Success at the Dublin branch opened up a redesign for the branch in Nationwide's corporate headquarters in Columbus, OH.
Nationwide Agribusiness - Des Moines, Iowa
The Nationwide headquarters in Des Moines, Iowa houses both Nationwide/Allied Insurance and Nationwide Agribusiness. I was tasked to design large banners for the parking garage next to the building. The Nationwide/Allied series (blue) correspond to the three aspects of their business: Auto, Home, and Life. The Agribusiness banners (green) remind employees of raw strength, heartiness, and pride in farming that Nationwide serves to protect.

ALMOST SENATOR: The Story of Murray Lincoln's Brush With Politics
Here is a display for an exhibit on Murray Lincoln: Nationwide's 3rd president. I chose to tell the story of his brush with politics in the 1950's. The final poster had raised accents and vinyl lettering.
Story:
The 1950 US Senate race was a war between protecting the special interests of the farmers and of the labor unions. Amidst the chaos was Nationwide’s Third president, Murray Lincoln. As a friend to both groups, he nearly landed himself in a spot running against Robert Taft aka “Mr. Republican” in Ohio. Despite all the publicity that Murray received prior to the election, he never actually chose to run as a candidate. After much deliberation he gave his final answer just days before the first primary: “No Thank You”.
Security Badge Design:
Every employee in the building is required to wear a security badge at all times. The back went blank for a long time until we saw this as an opportunity to drive the company culture.
